Josie

Josie Friedman

Owner | Partner | M.S. CCC-SLP

Josie is a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist with a passion to serve the adult neuro population. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree at Indiana University and Master’s degree from Rush University, Josie is a certified member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a licensed clinician through the State of Illinois. She has dedicated her career and professional development to the adult medical population.     

 

Having worked in a variety of settings including intensive care unit, acute inpatient rehabs, outpatient therapy, and day rehab clinics, Josie has serviced a diverse patient population. Her expertise in evidence-based practice and her personable disposition allows Josie to connect to her patients and their families and caregivers when providing individualized plans of care.

Throughout her career, Josie has developed a passion for swallowing disorders, becoming certified in performing Videofluoroscopic Swallow Studies (VFSS) and VitalStim Therapy for Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation. She also enjoys leading group therapy sessions and discussions for individuals with Aphasia, Cognitive-Communication Disorders, and Social-Communication Disorders. Her commitment to helping others and changing lives is what motivates Josie’s persistent professional learning. Josie & Jane originally met as colleagues at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. After many years within the organization, they followed their passion to build their own in-home private practice.

 

In her free time, Josie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring the restaurant scene of Chicago, and traveling.

Jane

Jane Hohman

Owner | Partner | M.S. CCC-SLP

Jane Hohman is a dynamic Speech-Language Pathologist. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of acquired neurologic disorders. Jane completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and subsequently received her Master’s degree from Northwestern University. Jane is a licensed SLP through the state of Illinois and is certified as a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).


Professionally, Jane has worked with a diverse patient population in various settings including acute care, in-patient rehabilitation, out-patient rehabilitation, day rehab, and skilled nursing. Jane’s strong clinical skills paired with ongoing education oriented toward patient-specific goals optimize her patient’s success.

Jane is particularly passionate about cognitive-communication disorders due to acquired brain injury. She is skilled in the provision of therapy to address high-level executive functioning for return to work and return to school. Jane is also enthusiastic about therapeutic interventions for Aphasia and implements various evidence-based practices for the specific subtype of aphasia. Jane & Josie originally met as colleagues at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. After many years within the organization, they followed their passion to build their own in-home private practice.

In her time off, Jane enjoys time with family and friends, taking long walks in her neighborhood in Wilmette, and trying out new recipes.

Kendall Evers

Kendall Evers

M.S. CCC-SLP

Kendall is a passionate speech-language pathologist who enjoys supporting adults with a variety of neurological diagnoses. She earned her Bachelor of Health Sciences in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Kentucky and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from DePaul University. Kendall is licensed in Illinois and is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

With clinical experience across medical, rehabilitation, and educational settings, Kendall is committed to providing patient-centered, functional care that promotes communication, independence, and overall quality of life. She values interdisciplinary collaboration and is dedicated to ongoing professional development to ensure the delivery of evidence-based therapy tailored to each patient’s needs.

Kendall has a particular interest in working with individuals affected by aphasia, dysphagia, cognitive-communication challenges, and other neurological conditions. She is passionate about helping patients build confidence and independence through meaningful, evidence-based interventions that support participation in daily life. She believes therapy should be both effective and enjoyable, creating a warm and supportive environment where patients feel motivated and empowered.

Outside of work, Kendall enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, walking along the Lakefront, and exploring Chicago’s diverse neighborhoods.

Yasmin Anglada

Yasmin Anglada

M.S. CCC-SLP

Yasmin Anglada is a dedicated speech-language pathologist with experience supporting both pediatric and adult neuro populations. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her master’s degree from DePaul University. Yasmin is licensed in Illinois and is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is committed to providing evidence-based, functional therapy that helps patients improve their daily communication and quality of life.

Yasmin has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, and home health. This diverse background allows her to serve a wide range of patients with unique needs. She integrates clinical expertise with a patient-centered approach, collaborating closely with families and caregivers to create individualized treatment plans.

Her clinical interests include aphasia, dementia, cognitive-communication disorders, neurological disorders, and social-communication disorders. Yasmin emphasizes practical, meaningful interventions that promote independence and participation in everyday activities. Dedicated to her patients’ success, she continues to expand her professional skills through ongoing education.

Outside of work, Yasmin enjoys attending concerts, traveling, reading, exploring Chicago’s restaurants and cafés, and spending time with family and friends.

Emily Griggs

Emily Griggs

M.A., CCC-SLP

Emily graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science and continued at the same institution to earn her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology in 2022. During her clinical rotations, Emily gained experience working with a diverse range of clients, including individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, clients receiving voice therapy, those with feeding and swallowing challenges, and individuals using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.

​

Emily has three years of experience working in K–8 school settings, supporting children with expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation difficulties, and other speech-language challenges. She has a particular interest in working with children with apraxia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and those who use AAC devices.

Her approach focuses on creating a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for children and their families, fostering growth, confidence, and communication success.

Emily is passionate about collaborating closely with families and caregivers to develop individualized, functional therapy plans that address each child’s unique needs and goals. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, running, and spending quality time with family and friends.
